11/09/2010 Complaint Complaint filed. Several environmental groups filed a lawsuit against the Interior Department, challenging three Bureau of Land Management’s approvals authorizing oil and gas development on 4.5 million acres of public lands in southeast Utah. The lawsuit alleges that BLM’s 2008 approval of resource management plans for this land violated NEPA because the agency failed to consider the environmental impacts of oil and gas development, off-road vehicle use, and other motor vehicle use on the lands, including their contribution to climate change.
