    01/04/2017 Petition for Writ of Mandate Petition for writ of mandate filed. Nonprofit Groups Cited CEQA Violations in Challenge to San Diego’s Update to Community Plan. Two nonprofit groups filed a lawsuit in California Superior Court challenging the City of San Diego’s approval of a community plan update. The groups alleged that the City had not complied with the procedural or substantive requirements of the California Environmental Quality Act. The groups cited numerous shortcomings in the final environmental impact report, including failure to adequately assess climate change impacts. The groups also asserted that the update was inconsistent with the City’s Climate Action Plan.
