    04/02/2007 Opinion Download Standing granted; EPA required to decide whether to regulate greenhouse gases under the Clean Air Act. 547 U.S. 497 (2007). The Supreme Court found that Massachusetts had satisfied the requirements for standing. The Supreme Court further concluded that greenhouse gases are air pollutants under the Clean Air Act, and that EPA must determine under Section 202(a) of the Clean Air Act whether greenhouse gas emissions from new motor vehicles cause or contribute to air pollution that would endanger public health or welfare.
