The federal district court for the District of Montana found that the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service had not acted arbitrarily when it decided not to designate additional critical habitat for Canada lynx under the Endangered Species Act based on climate change data. FWS "found that reliable projections of future climate in lynx habitat was not available, and climate data cited by environmental organizations was only useful for planning in specific regions."
